Things to do on a rainy day

It’s been raining here the past few days, and it looks like we’ll have more rain coming this week. From what I’ve been hearing from friends and colleques across the nation, it’s been bad weather everywhere. So, what do you do when you’re stuck at home? There’s alot you can do besides watching the old boob tube. I’ve made a list, and if you want you can leave a comment to add some thoughts/tips you have as well.

1. Read a book, I know I know with the Internet it seems print is dead, but reading a book is an enjoyable way of spending your time, plus you may learn something new, or if you have one of those new electronic books where you can download almost any book,  it makes it easy to read  everything from the classics, to the new hits on the best seller lists.

2. Clean your house, No better time than the present to get started on your Spring Cleaning list

3.  Get your thank you cards out, if you haven’t taken time to get out thank you cards for holiday gifts or wedding gifts, now is just a good time as any.

4. Get your taxes done, Tax time is almost here, so if you haven’t done it yet, don’t wait to the last minute.

5. Reorganize your closet, and throw out old unused clothes, If you spend sometime going thru your closet, I’ll bet you find clothes you don’t need , or rarely wear anymore. Take these out,and donate them. “Good Will” and “Out Of The Closet” stores have outlets everywhere. There’s even stores that take old clothes and give you cash for them. Check your local directory for stores in your area.

6. Donate to the Japan Relief Fund, go online, best is Red cross, and donate some money to help Japan, even a few dollars helps.

7. Have a board game night, We did a board game night oen night, and it was fun. Dust off that old Monoloply game, or whatever you have, and have some old school fun. Yes, there was fun before Internet games, LOL

8. Update your photo album, sounds tedious, but once you get started, you’ll get it done before you know it, plus you’ll feel better that you’ve got it done. You can also buy a device to put them on a digital frame, or to upload them to your computer,a nd you can throw away those old photos that are taking up space.

These are just a few ideas to help you spend the time while your stuck indoors.
