Always have a Plan “B”

In a time when jobs are uncertain, and you never know when you may need to look for income elsewhere, it’s always good to have a back up plan, or as they say a Plan “B”.

Making a career change can be a challenging and some what frightening thing to do. But if you start looking into this now, and preparing, “just in case”, you can prevent any time consuming energy in scrambling to make money when the unforseen happens.

So what should you do? How do I go about that?

First, look at what you would want to do if you didn’t have the job you have now. What interests you most? What would your dream job be if you weren’t doing what you’re doing now?

Second, start training, or go back to school. You’re NEVER too old to go back to school. We always hear of, and see more and more people every year that are “older” than the normal college age student going to school. Remember, you are years of experience and knowledge already under your belt.

Third, ask friends, relatives, and co workers if they hear of any openings or new job potentials. It never hurts to ask.

Fourth, Don’t be afraid of the unknown when it comes into seeking a new field or career to launch. It’s an exciting time, yes it will be a lot of work, but it is an opportunity to venture forth and make a success of yourself.

Fifth, Don’t give up, stick with it, and keep plugging away.
